Singapore National Climbing Standards (SNCS) Level 3 Certification Course (9/10 Nov 2024)

**Our Sports Climbing Level 3 Certification is certified under Singapore National Climbing Standards (SNCS)**
Class Size: 4 pax only. Slots are secured only after payment has been made.
Objective: To introduce the techniques of climbing bolted multi-pitch routes safely.
Pre-requisite:
- At least 16 years of age
- Has Sport Climbing Course Level Two certificate or equivalent; and Abseil Proficiency Course Level One certificate or equivalent*
*This course builds on the basic skills learned in the abovementioned courses; trainees should be familiar and confident with these basic skills before undertaking this course.

- Lead Climbing
 – Artificial Climbing Walls vs Natural Rocks
 – Types of protection points
 – Multi-pitch climbing
- Introducing Equipment for Multi-Pitch Climb (usage, care & limitation)
 – Dynamic ropes (Single/Half/Twin)
 – Accessory Cords/Prusiks (various diameters)
 – Quickdraws
 – Slings (Runners)/ Tapes (safety slings, extension as Runners, anchors)
 – Belay devices
 – Circular descending devices (e.g. Figure-of-8, Harpoon)
 – Planular descending devices (e.g. Stich Plate)
 – Tubular descending devices (e.g. ATC)
 – In-Line adjustable devices (e.g. Rack)
 – Auto-locking descending devices (e.g. Gri Gri, Cinch, Stop)
- Knots & Hitches (usage, limitation, dressing)
 – Double Figure of 8 knot with double bight
 – Friction knots (Standard/Classic, Klemheist, French)
 – Overhand knot
 – Clove Hitch
 – Italian Hitch (Munter)
- Anchor System
 – Criteria for anchors
 – Types of anchors (Self-equalized, Isolated/Static, Rope anchors)
- Multi-Pitch Climb
 – Leading & seconding – changeover

Passing Standards: Trainees must demonstrate the following –
- Setup anchor system for multi-pitch climb
- Belaying a climber using both direct & indirect belay system
- Lead climb changeover to abseil with backup
- Ascending on ropes
- Conduct proper pre-climb checks
- Correct use of climbing calls
- Safe equipment handling
