Hello and welcome to the RockerFellas website!
My name is Derek and I am the Founder and Director of RockerFellas Adventure Pte Ltd. I have been climbing for the past 18 years and am still actively climbing very regularly till today! I was initially into body building, but eventually found my calling and passion in climbing, as well as being able to impart knowledge to my students.
In the past 12 years as a climbing instructor, I have conducted more than 200 courses, so you can imagine how many students have gone through me! I also love travelling overseas to hike and climb – my favourite places are China, Taiwan, Thailand, Hong Kong and Malaysia. It was this passion for adventure travelling that led me to create RockerFellas Adventure back in 2014, despite having to juggle a full-time job as well, so that I could share my passion and make adventure trips more accessible for climbers and trekkers of all levels.

Hi everyone, I’m Shao Hao, I’ve been an instructor with Rockerfellas for the past 4 years. I first tried climbing in 2011 doing my SNCS L1, but only really got into it in 2016 when I went on my first outdoors trip that made me realise how much fun climbing can be. Climbing has brought me to many places, including the US, Mexico, Spain, France, Taiwan, Thailand and Malaysia. More importantly, climbing has let me cross paths with many wonderful people who share the this passion for the sport.
Having tried my hand at most types of climbing (bouldering, sport climbing, multipitch, trad, deepwater solo, even a little bit of ice climbing), one of my big goals remaining is to attempt a big wall climb in Yosemite, maybe El Capitan one day. Regardless, I still enjoy climbing in all it’s forms, and I particularly enjoy teaching multipitch in SNCS L3, and bringing people on trips to experience the outdoors. Looking forward to meeting more people who share this same passion for the sport!

Hi everyone, I’m Jake! I am a passionate rock climber and I recently joined the RockerFellas team to share my love for the vertical world. While I used to spend much of my time in the water—kayaking, scuba diving, and playing canoe polo—I eventually found my true calling on the rock wall.
My climbing journey has taken me on adventures across different parts of the world, from Batu Caves in Malaysia, to Railay Beaches in Krabi, to Long Dong in Taiwan, and more in progress!
One of my most memorable experiences was deep water soloing in the emerald waters of Ha Long Bay.
As an instructor, my goal is to bridge the gap between indoor training and the great outdoors. I am passionate about imparting technical knowledge and organizing outdoor trips that allow others to experience the thrill of climbing in nature. Whether you are looking to improve your skills or join us for an overseas expedition, I look forward to climbing with you!
