DESCRIPTION:Prerequisite: At least 13 years of age \nObjectives\n1. The course is designed for people who have no prior knowledge on abseiling.\n2. Participants will learn the basic skills to descend on ropes and have essential knowledge on the equipment required to abseil. \nSyllabus\n1. Introduction to Abseiling\n– Why do people abseil?\n– Environment – natural rocks\, tower\n2. Introduction of Abseil Equipment (usage\, care\, limitation)\n– Static rope\, Harness\, carabiner\, Descending device – (Fig.8)\, Helmet\, Gloves\n3. Rope handling\n– Managing ropes\n– Coiling\, lapping & chaining\n4. Descend Practice (with a belay line) using Fig of 8 descender\n– Rig-in and remove from rope system\n -Basic stance and brake hand\n– Abseil command\n– Descend with a fireman’s belay\n– Self rescue – apply lock-on system with leg wrap\n5.
