DESCRIPTION:Objectives \n\nThe course is designed for people who have no prior knowledge on abseiling.\nParticipants will learn the basic skills to descend on ropes and have essential knowledge on the equipment required to abseil.\n\nPre-requisite: \n\nAt least 13 years of age\n\n******************************************************\nSyllabus \n\nIntroduction to Abseiling\n– Why do people abseil?\n– Environment – natural rocks\, tower\nIntroduction of Abseil Equipment (usage\, care\, limitation)\n– Static rope\, Harness\, carabiner\, Descending device – (Fig.8)\, Helmet\, Gloves\nRope handling\n– Managing ropes\n– Coiling\, lapping & chaining\nDescend Practice (with a belay line) using Fig of 8 descender\n– Rig-in and remove from rope system\n– Basic stance and brake hand\n– Abseil command\n– Descend with a fireman’s belay\n– Self rescue – apply lock-on system with leg wrap\nSafety Considerations\n– Rope placement on descender (smiley face)\n– Importance of controlled descend\n– Appropriate attire\, loose hair etc\nCourse Review\n– Suggestions for further advancement\n– General discussion & feedback\n\nNote: Wearing of helmet is compulsory when engaging in abseiling activities. \nPassing Standards: Trainees must demonstrate the following – \n\nCorrect harness usage\nCorrect rig-in to abseil system with a Fig 8 descender\nPerform a controlled descend\nPerform a self-rescue\nCorrect use of abseiling commands\n\n******************************************************\nPayment Mode \n\nPayNow or PayLah to 96250587.
