DESCRIPTION:Prerequisite: At least 16 years of age\, Abseiling Proficiency Course Level One certified \nObjectives\nThis course is designed as a follow on from the Abseiling Proficiency Course Level 1. The course teaches a progression into acquiring advance personal proficiency skills to descend and ascend on ropes. \nSyllabus\n1. Introduction of Other Abseil Equipment (usage\, care & limitation)\n– Accessory cords (various diameter)\n– Slings/ Tapes\n– Descending device (Tubular\, GRIGRI\, STOP)\n2. Knots and Hitches\n– Double Figure of 8 knot\n– Double Figure of 8 knot with double bight\n– Double Fisherman knot\n– Tape knot\n– Friction knots (Standard\, Klemheist\, French)\n– Clove Hitch\n– Italian Hitch (Munter)\n– Half Hitch\n– Setting up fixed anchor system\n– Descend Practice\n– Abseil with different devices\, Italian Hitch\n– Abseil with backup (auto-block)\n– Ascending on ropes (prusiking)\n– Ascend and descend on ropes using accessory cords\n– Ascend and changeover to abseil with backup\n3. Self Rescue Technique\n– Escape from jammed devices\, cords\n– Escape from knotted rope (joint ropes)\n4. Safety Considerations\n– Rope placement on descender (smiley face)\n– Loading a karabiner on a minor axis & 3 points loading\n– Importance of dressing a good knot\n– Using an auto-braking device\n5. Course Review\n– Suggestions for further advancement\n– General discussion and feedback\n6. Setting up fixed anchor system\n7.
