DESCRIPTION:The Singapore National Climbing Standards (SNCS) Climbing Instructor Scheme defines the professional training and competence requirements leading to the SNCS Climbing Instructor certifications and is concerned with good practices and high standards of instruction leading to safe enjoyment of the sport of climbing. It is the only national climbing instructor training scheme in Singapore that is endorsed and recognized by the South East Asia Climbing Federation (SEACF)\, Singapore Sport Climbing and Mountaineering Federation (SSCMF) and the Singapore Sports Council. \nGroup Size: 8 pax max \nPrerequisite:\n1. Knots and Hitches\n– Double Figure of 8 knot\n– Double Figure of 8 knot with double bight\n– Double Fisherman knot\n– Tape knot\n– Friction knots (Standard\, Klemheist\, French)\n– Clove Hitch\n– Italian Hitch (Munter)\n– Half Hitch\n– Setting up fixed anchor system\n– Descend Practice\n– Abseil with different devices\, Italian Hitch\n– Abseil with backup (auto-block)\n– Ascending on ropes (prusiking)\n– Ascend and descend on ropes using accessory cords\n– Ascend and changeover to abseil with backup\n3. Descend Practice (with a belay line) using Fig of 8 descender\n– Rig-in and remove from rope system\n -Basic stance and brake hand\n– Abseil command\n– Descend with a fireman’s belay\n– Self rescue – apply lock-on system with leg wrap\n5.
